2011 WSOP November Nine Photos

The stage is set and the final nine players from a WSOP Main Event starting field of 6,865 players are now on break until the final able reconvenes November 5-7 to determine the 2011 WSOP Championship winner.  The November Nine was determined in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 20th, when John Hewitt pushed all-in and was eliminated in 10th place, $607,882.

Martin Stasko of the Czech Republic topped the field with 40,175,000 in tournament chips, while Samuel Holden joins the exclusive 2011 November Nine as the short stack with 12,375,000 in play money.  Flipchip has selected some favorite images from the big poker show and posted them into the photo gallery.

This years champion will collect $8,711,956 for the win plus the most distinguished prize in all of poker, the Main Event Championship Bracelet.

Ben Lamb: Online Poker Loser to WSOP Star

Ben Lamb is arguably the biggest star of the 2011 WSOP since hes managed to win the $10k Pot Limit Omaha Championship ($814,436), finish second in a $3k PLO tournament ($259,918) and finish eighth in the $50k Players Championship ($201,338). Oh, and it doesnt hurt that Lamb is currently in the top 10 of the WSOP Main Event with 25 players left, and poised to lead the 2011 Player of the Year standings.

With all of this being said, few people would guess that Lamb started out his poker days as a bonafide online poker loser. In 2004, Lamb deposited $100 seven different times at online poker sites with the same end result: he lost all of his money.
